Amesville kindergarten students learned all about bus safety today. A big thank you to our amazing bus drivers for the great job you do everyday.
Today, the high school Sources of Strength peer leaders completed their refresher training and worked on planning this school year's campaigns. Sources of Strength moves beyond a singular focus on risk factors by utilizing an upstream approach for youth suicide prevention. This upstream model strengthens multiple sources of support, or protective factors, for young people so that when times get hard, they have strengths to rely on.
The peer leaders worked very hard today and are excited to share upcoming events soon!
Amesville students are thrilled with the new playground equipment! A huge thank you to Holzer Health for helping to make our playground an engaging space that is accessible for all of our students.
The Athens County Public Library staff helped kickstart the Federal Hocking High School Readers' Workshop class. Students were able to tour the library, learn about all the services and resources offered, and gain a helpful tutorial on how to select novels. This is a wonderful asset, and the ACPL bookmobile will make bi-monthly visits to the FH campus so we can always have choice novels in the future. We are so grateful. - Ms. Ripple
FH Marching band is something truly special. These Marching Lancers were Twinning, "Band"ing together. Way to go A.B. & B. A.!
There is a lot of work and a great deal of excitement when preparing our interns to start their placements. Emma Lucas (FH Class of 2024) was kind enough to share words of advice about her own internships and how they served to shape her career path journey. We are excited for all of the growth opportunities and exploration that will follow as each student begins!

We had an awesome first day at Coolville Elementary! We started our day with our first All School Meeting where we reviewed our three Core Values that we use to guide us both inside and outside of school: Respect, Responsibility and Kindness. Thank you to our students, staff, and families for helping make this first day a great one for Coolville!
🎉 What an Amazing First Day of School! 🎉 Today was filled with energy, excitement, and lots of smiling faces as we kicked off the new school year! It was wonderful to see students eager to learn, and our entire school community coming together to make this day special. Thank you to our dedicated staff for their hard work in preparing for this day. We’re off to a great start, and I can’t wait to see all the incredible things we will accomplish together this year.
We also had our first "Lancer Leader" of the year. Kaiden volunteered to lead the entire school in saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
Students will earn "Lancer Leader" tickets throughout the year for having respectful, responsible, and safe behavior at school and on the bus.
Thank you to all the families who joined us for our Amesville House! It was wonderful to see so many of you connecting with teachers and exploring what this school year has to offer. Your support and involvement mean so much to us and make our school community stronger. Here’s to a great year ahead!
