Amesville families that drop off and pick up students: We will continue to utilize the main doors for morning drop off, however we will be moving afternoon pick up back to the playground doors beginning this afternoon.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. I want to take a moment to inform you about an incident that took place at Amesville Elementary today. Out of an abundance of caution, our school initiated a lockdown in response to an external concern.
Law enforcement responded quickly, and at no time were students or staff in immediate danger. After following all safety protocols and working closely with authorities, we received clearance to lift the lockdown and resume normal operations.
We understand that situations like this can be concerning, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation. The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority, and we are grateful for the swift response of our team and local law enforcement.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school. Thank you for your continued trust and support.
Sincerely,
Angie Klingelhafer
Amesville Elementary Principal

Sophomores at Federal Hocking High School recently finished reading “Night,” written by Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel. To demonstrate their comprehension of the text and their analysis of the different literary devices in the memoir, students are participating in a 10-day writer’s workshop. During this writer’s workshop, students will complete the 5 steps of the writing process, create strong and concise thesis statements, utilize relevant and detailed textual evidence cited in MLA format, and develop strong academic body paragraphs using formal academic language. Pictured below are students attentively using their novels to find textual evidence supporting their thesis statements.
Coolville Elementary third-grade students worked hard to complete a biography book report on important people from history. They each read a biography, answered questions, and illustrated a picture to accompany their report. Then, students stood in front of the class to present what they learned. We are so proud of your hard work. Keep it up!
