The Federal Hocking Journalism class had the privilege to explore Athens County's newest nature preserve, which happens to be right in our backyard. We want to thank the Athens Conservancy Board Member Aimee Delach for the guided tour. However, we can't release too much information now, because we do not want to spoil the upcoming news article. 5th grade Band at Coolville is off to a stellar start. We have a large group of students who are starting this new adventure. Thanks to Mr. Hartwick for instilling a love of music in our students. We want to give a special shout out to Mrs. Lackey at the Federal Valley Resource Center for making this opportunity more accessible by allowing students to borrow instruments.

Amesville families, Break out your neon and best dance moves, tomorrow evening from 6:30-8:00pm is the Amesville PTO Glow Dance! Students have been learning different dances in PE to prepare. The PTO will use concession proceeds to support student activities and trips.

Third graders at Amesville had a tea party to celebrate the end of our Classic Tales unit. We read The Wind in the Willows, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Aladdin and the Magic Lamp. We tried butterfly pea tea, a blue tea that turns purple with lemon. Students loved it!

Day 1 of the Amesville Running Club was a huge success with students logging 65 combined miles! Our goal this year is 12,000! What a great start to our season!

BB2C hosted The Summit at Marietta’s Washington State College and this experience provided more networking experience for our internship program as well as FH’s upcoming career day.
