My name is Angie Klingelhafer, and I am honored and excited to serve as the new principal at Amesville Elementary. I have been a dyslexia and reading specialist, instructional coach, and first grade teacher for the Logan-Hocking School District for the past 17 years. Most of my experience has been at the elementary level and I absolutely love working with elementary-aged students. There is no better job in the world!
I live on a small hobby farm in Rockbridge, surrounded by Cantwell Cliffs State Park. My husband John and I have two children: Lauren-Hildie who is a freshman, and Ben who is in 7th grade, they both run cross country and track, and are involved in 4-H and FFA. As a family we enjoy working on our farm, fishing, hiking, and traveling.
I believe that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am eager to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my child-centered approach, to support our students in their social emotional growth and academic achievement.
I have always been inspired by something that Elenor Roosevelt once said, “To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart.” I am a supportive leader who is here to listen to the needs of students, families, staff members, and the community. I will help our stakeholders accomplish the goals that we create together. I look forward to learning more about the uniqueness of Amesville Elementary and the Federal-Hocking School District this year and in the years to come.
